MEERY PROJECT UPDATES

The MEERY Project (Maldives: Enhancing Employability and Resilience of Youth) is a five-year initiative with a total funding of USD 20 million, aimed at tackling key challenges faced by Maldivian youth. By strengthening the quality and relevance of vocational education and training and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset to reduce the gap between industry needs and workforce capabilities. The project priority sectors are tourism, tourism-related construction, agriculture, and ICT. USD 20 million is disbursed between the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. Each Ministry with USD 10 million to implement targeted activities that support the project’s goals.
